It\u2019s never one note. It can\u2019t be. The home has to encapsulate all that we are and where we want to go in our lives. When you look at it that way, you see it\u2019s not frivolous. It\u2019s important because it\u2019s where we start and finish each and every day,\u201d says Adler.<\/p>\n

Adler, who is a self-taught designer reflects, \u201cWorking for Nate, who\u2019s also self-taught, you learn your biggest asset as a designer is your instinct. What do you see in the world, today and historically, that you love? SA: Vintage jewelry always tops my list. I\u2019ve had my eye on this\u00a0crystal necklace from 1stDibs for some time. When this is published I\u2019m going to\u00a0send it to my husband as a little hint!<\/p>\n

Z: What\u2019s your favorite holiday indulgence or \u201cguilty pleasure\u201d?<\/strong><\/p>\n

SA: My husband makes incredibly decadent, homemade, banana-chocolate-chip\u00a0pancakes on New Year\u2019s Day. When I say I look forward to them all year, I\u2019m not\u00a0kidding. They\u2019re just that good, and they definitely get the year off to a sweet start.<\/p>\n

Z: What are some things you like to do to your home or apartment to make it feel like the holidays?<\/strong><\/p>\n

SA: We love to entertain for our friends and family all year, but especially during the\u00a0holidays. I don\u2019t have specific holiday decorations. To me, the holiday\u00a0season presents a phenomenal opportunity to fill the house with fresh flowers, new\u00a0candles and rearrange my current accessories to make them feel new again.<\/p>\n

Z: Are you going anywhere special this holiday season? If so, where?<\/strong><\/p>\n

SA:\u00a0For the past year we\u2019ve been renovating a new home. It\u2019s set to be completed\u00a0in December.
