Artist Statement:
I currently live and work in Cascais, Portugal. I have always lived in plural societies - this characteristic has a profound impact on my work, which reveals the socio-cultural multiplicity in different themes, mainly in the creation of characters and archetypes.
I feature artworks with female characters in a constant interaction between the figurative, the principle of duality and the concept of beauty. My work’s focus is based on deconstruction, with essential lines and forms and presenting different personalities, also marked by strong and expressive colors.
Without relying on realism, I usually combine traits and to create convincing female human figures and able to be read by the public in interpretive and subliminal ways.
The viewer still can realize different types of feminine beauty proposed. I intend to highlight the multiple personalities that make up the female universe and want to stimulate the understanding of exotic and atypical but contemporary beauties. Female figures are depicted where the concept of “beautiful” will not always conform to the general standards of perfection disseminated by public opinion. Still, the goal is to delight the public with captivating representations.
I feel more comfortable painting by stimulating the audience's power of interpretation, attracted by enigmatic, proportional or asymmetrical features and looks, but which should mark the viewer's experience in the face of disturbing or curious characters, sometimes of an ambiguous nature.
I was born in Brazil, 1971.

Artistic Influences:
My work is also the result from my experience in the world of luxury fashion - a type of criticism. I'm a fan of artists like Manolo Valdés and Toulouse-Lautrec.
