Artist Statement:
I believe painting is an expression of love. Love of people, forms and nature. At this point in my life I need this communion with my surroundings.
I cannot go away without expressing my debt to life and all the amazing opportunities it has given me. Oils and brushes are making this magic possible. Sometimes I paint realism, sometime expressionism, sometimes people, sometimes nature. In one way or another it helps to express my feelings.
I hope you will enjoy my paintings as much as I enjoyed creating them. You want to have that piece that talks to you about feelings, about dreams or about longings. The one that reminds you of childhood, re-creates your environment or submerses you in different cultures.
Art makes us feel joy toward life. Joy about all this wonderful world with its abounding shapes and colors in which we have the privilege to live.

Education:
I was born in Chile and raised a family in Mexico. I have been living in the USA since my second marriage, 12 years ago. In Mexico I was a full-time student for one academic year at the School of Fine Arts San Carlos in Mexico City and painted for about 6 years. As an immigrant I had to re-invent myself several times adapting to new environments and needs. My education includes being an economist (UNAM - Mexico) and RN (USA).
In 2010, after my 2 children began to argue about the ownership of my remaining oil portraits and Aztec acrylics, I decided to paint again to finish with the discussion. While renewing contact with these materials a new magic was born. I re-discovered how much I love painting and this time the call was strong and decisive. So I forgot about my nursing career and began the search for my new voice.
