Artist Statement:
"Something greater than us makes this world extraordinary. I paint to reveal it."
Life on this planet is a masterpiece, shaped by evolution, by forces far beyond us, by something that feels almost divine. Some call it God; others call it the universe. Whatever its name, its hand is everywhere. The remarkable forms and behaviors of living things didn’t happen by chance. Each one evolved for a purpose, moving toward the fulfillment of its own destiny on this planet.
Yet most of us go through our days without realizing how full of wonder this world is. What surrounds us every day is so familiar that we stop truly seeing it. But look closely at a tree, a sparrow, or a beetle, and something changes. Miracles are all around us. Through my paintings, I want to awaken people to see and feel that wonder, and to show that the world was always extraordinary, just waiting to be noticed.
I work in oil on canvas. Oil paint is more than a medium to me. It’s unpredictable, almost alive, as if it has a spirit of its own. I believe that quality is what gives my subjects their vivacity.
